We're Back!

Yes, we made it back from Hawai'i and what a fantastic trip it was. We had such a good time with our kids and their spouses. My family is so much fun to be around and I would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact we are going to do a trip again as a family but the next trip everyone will be going. We don't know where or when we are going but sometime in the future if our health and everything else holds out, we will do it. Hawai'i was beautiful and there were so many things to do. We definitely want to go back to Hawai'i. Our favorite places were at Kona on the Big Island and the little island, Kauai. Peggy and I took a helicopter ride on the island of Kauai and I will attach some of the pictures I took from the helicopter. Peggy kept her eyes closed the whole time so I had to buy the DVD of the trip so she could see what she missed. She did open her eyes once in a while and she was a trooper and climbed right up and into the helicopter just like she knew what she was doing.

Aloha, hoy!

Well, here it is Tuesday, July 15 and we are just two days away from heading to Hawaii! We are sure getting excited and just a little nervous. The girls have all written lettters to their children in case something happens to them and that makes me a little more nervous because of women's promonition. We hope everything goes well and that we can all have a great time together.

Workin' on the farm

Well, since I haven't done anything on our blog since March, I thought I would update it and put some new pictures on our blog. On Friday, mom and I hauled our tractor and equipment to Preston to do a little work on "Bybee's Back Acres". Mom took some pictures of me workin' and drivin' the tractor and I took a few of her as we were making a sandwich and takin' a little time to rest. Needless to say we had a ball, at least I know that I did. I finally got to drive my tractor around and do some much needed work on our place in Preston. I think mom had a real good time also. She calls me Hyrum and she is May. What I am referring to is some neighbors that we had when we lived out on the Indian Reservation. There names were Hyrum and May Martin and they lived next door to me and my parents. They both worked at the State Mental Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho and they worked the afternoon shift. Every night when they would get home from work at about midnight, Hyrum would stop the car at the gate to their property and May would get out and open the gate, Hyrum would drive the car through the gate and instead stopping to pick up May after she closed the gate, good old Hyrum would just keep on driving down to the house about a quarter mile away. He would make May walk all the way to the house. Mom said that what we were doing on our farm reminded her of May and Hyrum. We took down the barbed wire from our fence and rolled it up into several rolls then I would drive the tractor along and mom would throw the rolls into the bucket on the tractor. When we had it all picked up, I drove the tractor over and dumped it out by the fence and I made mom walk behind me all the way. So, we were May and Hyrum for a day. I told her that she could drive the tractor but she didn't want to. Anyhow here is some pictures we took while we were in Preston.
